Manolo Blahnik heaps praise on his soon-to-be royal customer Meghan Markle

Shoe guru Manolo Blahnik was thrilled to discover actress Meghan Markle was a fan.
As the former Suits star prepares to become a royal, she gets to wear outfits from the world’s top designers, and at her first official event with Queen Elizabeth II on Commonwealth Day (12Mar18) at Westminster Abbey in London, Meghan stunned in a simple cream coat and black dress by Amanda Wakeley, a cream hat by Stephen Jones, and blue Manolo Blahnik BB pumps.
And the Spanish shoe designer is over the moon with her choice of footwear.
“It is a great honour and joy to have my shoes worn by such a beautiful young lady,” Blahnik shared, according to Footwear News. “Meghan is well on her way to becoming a style icon of the 21st century.”
The shoe style, named after Brigitte Bardot, is “a good shoe for every occasion”, according to Manolo.
The BB pumps first hit shelves 10 years ago, and features a low-cut vamp and topline with pointed toes. Editors at Footwear News praise it as one of the most flattering footwear silhouettes because it “helps lengthen the appearance of legs”.
Meghan also chose a pair of BB pumps, this time in black suede, when she celebrated International Women’s Day earlier this month. Other famous BB fans include Reese Witherspoon, Victoria Beckham, and Katy Perry.
