Ex-American Idol judge Mariah Carey is getting ready to release her fourteenth (!) album this summer. Having previously announced on her Instagram that the release date is July 23, the songstress and her longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri now confirm the title of the album: The Art of Letting Go. Carey’s last (non-holiday) album was Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel in 2009. If you don’t remember it, it may be because it was the first album of her career to not be certified platinum. Fans can hope, as such, that Letting Go will relaunch Carey to her former state of certified glory.
We’ve learned the album title, but we still have questions: Will all of her songs have hashtags? Will there be any subtle digs at Nicki Minaj? We’ll soon find out.
