Beloved jazz pianist and radio host Marian Mcpartland has died at the age of 95. The musician, who hosted America’s the National Public Radio show Piano Jazz, passed away from natural causes at her home on Long Island, New York, on Tuesday night (20Aug13).
McPartland, who began playing piano at the age of three, enjoyed a career spanning more than 60 years, during which she scooped numerous honours including a Grammy, a Trustees’ Lifetime Achievement Award, and an Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal.
