Biography

The tall, striking granddaughter of celebrated writer Ernest Hemingway, this actress' performance as Woody Allen's high school-age girlfriend in "Manhattan" (1979) earned her an Oscar nomination. Hemingway made her feature debut with her older sister Margot (formerly Margaux) in the controversial rape drama "Lipstick" (1976). She starred as a lesbian pentathlete in "Personal Best" (1982) and as murdered Playboy model and actress Dorothy Stratten in Bob Fosse's "Star 80" (1983). Hemingway then treaded water in a string of less than successful features including "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" (1987), Blake Edward's "Sunset" (1988), Tom Mankiewicz's "Delirious" (1991) and John Mellencamp's "Falling from Grace" (1992).
