Mariel Hemingway eyes anonymous novel

Actress Mariel Hemingway is considering writing a novel under a pseudonym to avoid comparisons to her famous grandfather, literary icon Ernest Hemingway. The Manhattan star has penned a memoir as well as two lifestyle books, but she has stayed clear of venturing into fiction over fears she will be compared to her late grandfather, the author of classics including A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
She tells Britain’s Daily Telegraph, “As my grandfather was one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, it’s a little bit daunting to follow in his footsteps. I write health and wellness books. I stay very sane and far away from fiction.”
However, the 51 year old has considered adopting a pen name, adding, “I might do it pseudonymously (sic) some day. That would take the pressure off.”
