Biography

Mario Siletti worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Early on in his acting career, Siletti landed roles in various films, including the Gene Kelly drama "Black Hand" (1950), "Strictly Dishonorable" (1951) and the crime feature "The Enforcer" (1951) with Humphrey Bogart. He also appeared in the Mario Lanza biopic "The Great Caruso" (1951), the suspenseful mystery "The House on Telegraph Hill" (1951) with Richard Basehart and "The Man Who Cheated Himself" (1951) with Lee J. Cobb. His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like the Van Johnson comedy "When in Rome" (1952), the dramatic sports film "Big Leaguer" (1953) with Edward G Robinson and the John Payne crime picture "Kansas City Confidential" (1953). He also appeared in "Wings of the Hawk" (1953), "Three Coins in the Fountain" (1954) with Clifton Webb and the musical "Bring Your Smile Along" (1955) with Frankie Laine. During the latter half of his career, he continued to act in the dramatic adaptation "East of Eden" (1955) with Julie Harris, the crime flick "The Naked Street" (1955) with Farley Granger and "Serenade" (1956). He also appeared in the Jack Martin Smith dramatic adaptation "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit" (1956), "Man in the Shadow" (1957) with Jeff Chandler and the Ernest Borgnine crime feature "Pay or Die" (1960). Siletti last acted on "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." (1964-68).
