Biography

A steadily employed character actress with more than 100 screen credits to her name, Mary Pat Gleason has been featured on television and occasionally in films since the 1980s. A stint on the soap opera "Guiding Light" during the mid-1980s proved to be one of Gleason's longer runs, with the stout actress often making one-off appearances on various TV shows. Gleason has nonetheless been memorable in many of her bit parts, which include spots on the comedy shows "Murphy Brown" and "Friends". Later in her career, she had some recurring performances, with multi-episode parts on the 2008 sci-fi/comedy "The Middleman" and the primetime soap "Desperate Housewives".
