Biography

Max Gillies was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Gillies's earliest roles were in film, including the Terrance Camilleri comedy "The Cars That Ate Paris" (1974), "The True Story of Eskimo Nell" (1974) and the drama "The Firm Man" (1975) with Peter Cummins. He kept working in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, starring in "The Great MacArthy" (1975) with John Jarratt, the drama "Pure S" (1976) with Gary Waddell and "Dimboola" (1979). He also appeared in "Dalmas" (1985). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "The Coca-Cola Kid" (1985) with Eric Roberts, the Bruno Lawrence comedy "As Time Goes By" (1988) and the Sheila Florance drama "A Woman's Tale" (1991). He also appeared in the Nicholas Hope comedy "Lust and Revenge" (1997). Gillies most recently acted in "Wil" (2006).
