Biography

Though Mercedes McNab's early roles as an easily offended Girl Scout and a perkier-than-thou camper in "The Addams Family" franchise are some of her most memorable, she gained a loyal fan following from her lengthy association with the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" universe. Her short scene with Wednesday Addams (Christina Ricci) in the 1991 <Addams Family" film, which found the sullen Addams asking McNab if her Girl Scout cookies were "made from real Girl Scouts," led to a more prominent role in the 1993 sequel as an annoyingly cheerful camper who refuses to accept Addams' disinterest in camp activities. During the '90s, McNab landed steady supporting work on numerous TV shows and in 1997, she was offered a minor role on Joss Whedon's supernatural horror series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Although her character, the superficial and petty high school student Harmony Kendall, was only contracted to appear for a few episodes, McNab's growing popularity as the cheerleader-turned-vampire soon found her credited as a guest star and ultimately, a series regular. She later reprised her role as Kendall on the 2001-2004 "Buffy" spin-off series, "Angel," which followed the guilt-ridden vampire Angel (David Boreanaz) and his attempts to reconcile himself with his bloodthirsty past.
