Mindy Kaling found it easy to keep her pregnancy a secret amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress, producer, and writer welcomed her second child, a son named Spencer, on September 3, 2020, after she chose to keep her pregnancy and baby news under wraps until after his birth.
Speaking to Elle magazine, the star confessed keeping her pregnancy was quiet because she didn’t have to go out anywhere thanks to lockdown.
“It was not too bad. I mean, clearly, I was not going anywhere (due to the coronavirus pandemic) like everybody else, so nobody found me out,” she explained, adding, “So that was kind of easy.”
When it came to social media snaps, the mum-of-two also made sure she “shot (her)self from the waist up and then also wore baggy things” to conceal her burgeoning bump.
The Office star is also mom to daughter Katherine, two, and she admitted the toddler is “really on board” with having someone in the house to play with.
“He’s still so little… (We) haven’t really seen what his personality is going to be like,” mused Mindy.
“When I told (Katherine) she was going to have a little brother, she didn’t understand he was going to come out a baby. I think she thought he was going to come out two years old, like her.
“So, the day before I went to the hospital, she was hiding all of her toys. That was her big thing. We’d be like, ‘Kit, where’s your Elmo?’ And we found it stuffed under the bed because she was hiding it so her brother wouldn’t take it.”
However, she added: “She was delighted when she found out he was so little and would not be interested in playing with toys for a long, long time. Now she’s really on board with it.”
The star has not yet commented on the paternity of her children.
