‘Modern Family’s’ Ed O’Neill Earns Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Love and Marriage — it’s never easy but Ed O’Neill always makes it look like a barrel of laughs, and now he’s finally getting rewarded for his efforts. The Modern Family’s patriarch finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The Hollywood “powers that be” may say “Hell to the No!” to letting reality stars have their names scratched into the legendary sidewalk, but the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce welcomed our lovable Al Bundy with open arms. O’Neill was awarded the star in honor of his contributions to the entertainment industry, which span over 40 years. I’d say he’s earned it!

O’Neill has had an impressive career and quickly became a household name as Al Bundy in the hilarious hit show Married…with Children, which had a strong 11- season run. Now he finds himself as the head of a nutty family yet again on the popular ABC show Modern Family, where he plays Jay Pritchett. He’s also nominated for an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy this year, so this is turning out to be quite the good time for the veteran actor. Both of his on-screen wives from his most prominent television shows — Katey Sagal and Sofia Vergara — turned up to show their support for their “hubby” at the Walk of Fame unveiling ceremony. Double the marriage, double the love. Congrats Ed — it’s well deserved!
