To the horror of Mumford & Sons’ colossal fanbase, the band has postponed several shows after bassist Ted Dwane was rushed to the hospital on Monday for the emergency removal of a blood clot on the surface of his brain.

In a statement on their website, the Grammy-winning English group wrote that Dwane had been “feeling unwell for a few days” before brain scans revealed a blood clot. But sigh no more: the band reassures fans that the mulit-talented instrumentalist is “receiving excellent care” and that he “will recover quickly” from the required operation.

In addition to wishing Dwane “a speedy recovery”, Mumford & Sons also announced the postponing of three shows planned for Tuesday in Dallas, June 12 in Woodlands, and June 13 in New Orleans. The performances will be rescheduled as soon as possible and, as of now, the band has no plans to postpone any other shows on their current tour for Babel. Tickets for the postponed shows will be awarded in the makeup gigs.

The folk rock band’s next performance is scheduled for June 15 at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN. “I will wait” for you there, Mumford & Sons.
