All burned out on Britney Spears‘ latest hit “Scream ‘N Shout”? You’re in luck! The pop tart’s song “Ooh La La” from the soundtrack of the animated film The Smurfs 2 (out July 31) has leaked. It’s a decidedly more bubblegum sound than we’ve heard from her in awhile, which makes sense considering its placement in a kids’ movie. Listen to it here:
Surprisingly, “Ooh La La ” isn’t terrible despite refashioning her caffeinated club beats for the under-10 set. It’s a warmer sound than we’ve heard from her in a couple years, even while her producers slice up Auto-Tuned lyrics into staccato pulses. It’s like she’s gone back to her Oops…I Did It Again days. Only she’s 13 years older and wiser and seems to have realized that it isn’t all that bad to be innocent after all.
