Onscreen, the Desperate Housewives have always been known for their nasty catfights, but it looks like the drama behind the scenes could get just as ugly. According to testimony given by Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry, Nicollette Sheridan once called her costar Teri Hatcher “the meanest woman in the world.”
Cherry testified on Tuesday in the lawsuit filed against him and ABC by former Housewives cast member Sheridan, and said, among other things, that Sheridan was a “negative presence” on the set of the ABC series for a long time before her character, Edie Britt, was killed off.
He also recalled a fight that he helped break up between Sheridan and Hatcher, which resulted in the previously mentioned name-calling.
In her suit, Sheridan alleges that she was wrongfully let go from Housewives and “assaulted” by Cherry.
