Biography

Noel Howlett was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Howlett kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "A Yank at Oxford" (1938), "Saraband For Dead Lovers" (1948) and "The Reluctant Widow" (1950). He also appeared in the Alastair Sim dramatic adaptation "A Christmas Carol" (1951). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, appearing in "Father Brown" (1954), the Kirk Douglas biopic drama "Lust For Life" (1956) and "The Scapegoat" (1959) featuring Alec Guinness. He also appeared in the Peter Sellers comedy "The Battle of the Sexes" (1960). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the drama "Victim" (1961) with Dirk Bogarde, "The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders" (1965) with Kim Novak and "Five Million Years to Earth" (1968). He also appeared in "The Bushbaby" (1970) with Margaret Brooks. Howlett more recently acted in "Mr. Selkie" (1979). Howlett passed away in October 1984 at the age of 82.
