Oh good, just what everyone needed: Chris Brown has returned to Twitter, you guys. The world can now return to its natural order, the axis can continue spinning, and the Mayan’s prophecy can be reinstated. Breathe a sigh of relief, Team Breezy—your captain has returned.

For the rest of us, the singer’s return to the social media site is hardly news in and of itself—he hasn’t even tweeted anything yet, and all of his old tweets have been deleted (gee, wonder why!). However, Brown’s continuance of feather-ruffling within the social media sphere is something of note, mostly for his recent Instagram exposure. Brown took to Instagram around the same time as his reinstatement on Twitter, to continue stoking the flames of those two do not approve of Rihanna and Brown’s rekindled relationship. Here, he posted a photo of a bikini-or-underwear (it’s hard to tell)-clad Rihanna in an oversized camouflage coat, sitting next to Brown with the oh-so-humble caption “What would music today sound like if these kids didn’t exist?” I’m going to go out on a limb here and say probably pretty much the same.
The return to the social media network comes just a week after Brown deleted his account following a heated exchange with comedian Jenny Johnson where Brown’s 2009 abuse of girlfriend Rihanna was brought into the spotlight again. It seems as though Brown couldn’t handle the inevitable commentary that everyone and their mother could’ve expected to come up again after the couple began flirting with making their allegedly-rekindled romance public.
