We’ve long been anticipating a Spice Girls reunion, especially since the three remaining members, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel B, reintroduced themselves as GEM (since Posh and Sporty totally bailed on their spice sisters).
On Tuesday night, Spice Girls fans finally got a little taste of the reunion trio when a brand new song leaked online. “Song For Her” is an upbeat pop anthem with a dancey, synth-filled chorus. It’s actually pretty reminiscent of One Direction, at least in the arrangement. The track is a natural progression and feels like a pretty modernized version of what we love about the Spice Girls. Unfortunately, maybe what we love is the nostalgia.
Fans are less than pleased with the new song. One of them even claimed it sounded like a bad Eurovision entry. Yikes!
