Praise the pop Gods above! Ashlee Simpson is finally coming out with new music.
We were giant fans of Ashlee’s previous albums Autobiography and I Am Me, but after that unfortunate SNL performance, popping out a couple of kids and divorcing Pete Wentz, the littlest Simpson sister hasn’t made new music in forever.
All of that’s about to change! Ashlee revealed to Us Weekly that she’s working on new tunes. Her new project will be a joint effort between her and her husband Evan Ross.
“We’re working on an album together. So in the new year, that will be happening! It’s been really fun to work together,” she dished.
Evan is super-stoked on the project, too. Anything to hangout with his wife!
“When you work separately, you don’t get to hang out — so this works out well.” he said.
“This way we can tour together! I’m definitely excited. I love working with my husband.” Ashlee chimed in.
Though Ashlee admits this album is “soulful, fun and reflective of music that [we] both like,” they’re going to part ways on subsequent releases.
“We’re doing this album together and then we’ll go off and do our own,” she said.
We can’t wait to hear what kind of cute love songs Ashlee and Evan come up with!
