Britney Spears pushed back her single “Make Me (Oooh)” because of technical difficulties in the studio (at least that’s what her reps said, even though there were reports of the label not liking her voice). Either way, the wait may be well worth it because Brit-Brit might finally be getting her revenge on Justin Timberlake.
The pair famously split in the early ’00s, and Timberlake allegedly wrote “Cry Me A River” about Spears. Remember when he cast that Britney look alike in the music video? Well apparently, Spears might be sampling their breakup song in her new single.
According to Perez Hilton, some industry insiders have been asking Britney’s publicist, Shoshanna Stone, if Spears still plans to sample the track in “Make Me (Oooh).” It’s been a whopping 14 years since Timberlake released the track. Bitter much?
This is definitely a random rumor, but it’s one we hope is true. We love Britney; we love Justin; we ship them forever (sorry, Jessica Biel).
