Biography

Oscar O'Shea worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Early on in his acting career, O'Shea landed roles in various films, including "Captains Courageous" (1937), the adaptation "Rosalie" (1937) with Nelson Eddy and "The Big City" (1937). He also appeared in the comedy "Man-Proof" (1938) with Myrna Loy, the Joan Crawford drama "Mannequin" (1938) and the Lew Ayres drama "King of the Newsboys" (1938). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Lucky Night" (1939) with Myrna Loy, "The Star Maker" (1939) and the dramatic adaptation "Of Mice and Men" (1939) with Burgess Meredith. He also appeared in the Melvyn Douglas drama "Tell No Tales" (1939). During the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "Two Weeks to Live" (1943), the Don Ameche drama "Happy Land" (1943) and "Corvette K-225" (1943). He also appeared in "Mystery of the River Boat" (1944) and "Haunted Harbor" (1944). O'Shea last acted in "Thy Neighbor's Wife" (1953).
