Pamela Adlon ‘devastated’ after Louis C.K. admits to sexual misconduct

Actress Pamela Adlon has expressed her “deep sorrow” for the women who were sexual harassed by Louis C.K.
Pamela co-created and starred in the series Better Things with the disgraced comedian, who admitted that sexual misconduct allegations made against him by five women were true on Friday (10Nov17).
After Louis’ admission, Pamela released a statement expressing her dismay.
“Hi. I’m here. I have to say something. It’s so important,” she began. “My family and I are devastated and in shock after the admission of abhorrent behaviour by my friend and partner, Louis C.K.
“I feel deep sorrow and empathy for the women who have come forward. I am asking for privacy at this time for myself and my family. I am processing and grieving and hope to say more as soon as I am able.”
Five women came forward to accuse the funnyman of masturbating in front of them as part of a New York Times expose, published on Thursday (09Nov17) – the same night the New York premiere of the 50-year-old’s new film I Love You, Daddy was abruptly cancelled.
Louis issued a lengthy statement via his representative Lewis Kay apologising for his bad behaviour.
“These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my d**k without asking first, which is also true,” he said.
“But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d**k isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.”
The father-of-two concluded his message by acknowledging the “pain and anguish” his actions have caused to his loved ones, and revealed he is now planning to take a step back from the limelight and “take a long time to listen”.
Louis has subsequently been dropped from the upcoming HBO Night of Too Many Stars autism awareness special, which will air live next week (begs13Nov17), while his new Netflix comedy special has been scrapped in the wake of the controversy.
