Pat Harrington Jr. dies at 86

Actor Pat Harrington Jr. has died at the age of 86.
The One Day at a Time star passed away on Wednesday (06Jan16) in Los Angeles. A cause of death has not been given, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter Harrington Jr. was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and was recently hospitalised due to a fall.
Harrington Jr. was best known for his role as the superintendent Dwayne Schneider in the sitcom about a divorced mom raising two teenage daughters in Indianapolis. Bonnie Franklin played the mother, while Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli played the young girls.
The actor won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award in the 1980s for his work on the show and, in 2012, he reunited with Bertinelli to make his last appearance onscreen in Hot in Cleveland.
In addition to his work on One Day at a Time, he also appeared in TV shows and films including Murder, She Wrote, The Love Boat, and Easy Come, Easy Go. He also worked as a voice actor in projects including The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure.
