Patsy Palmer to trade EastEnders for Hollywood

British TV actress Patsy Palmer has announced plans to quit BBC soap Eastenders after 30 years and start life in Los Angeles. The 41 year old, who has played Bianca in the show on and off since 1993, will be leaving this autumn (14), but her character will not be killed off and producers plan to leave her departure open ended, so Palmer can return in the future.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins says, “We are so sad that Patsy has decided to leave us but completely understand it’s the right time for her. Bianca won’t be leaving Albert Square until the autumn so there’s still a lot more to come from her on screen this year – and the door will be left wide open for her return.”
Palmer previously left the show in 1999 but returned in 2002 and again in 2008.
