Paul Gray memorial art show to launch in hometown

An art installation in memory of late SLIPKNOT star PAUL GRAY is to be launched in the rocker’s hometown to mark the fifth anniversary of his death.
Gray died aged 38 after suffering an accidental drug overdose in May, 2010, and five years on, a group of local artists in Des Moines, Iowa have put together a show called 2 Minutes Wasn’t Long Enough.
The art piece is named after Slipknot’s two minutes of silence held in memory of Gray at a gig following his death, and a photobook featuring messages from fans who wrote to his family after the tragedy will be sold to raise funds to help the late star’s daughter.
Gray’s widow Brenna Gray says, “I still to this day receive an overwhelming amount of correspondence from those who felt passionately that Paul and his music had a direct impact on their lives. I knew we owed it to them and to my daughter, who never had the chance to meet her father, to showcase what a special and unique talent he offered to the world.”
The exhibition runs at the Kum & Go Theater at the Des Moines Social Club from 19-20 June (15).
