Paul Kelly lands lifetime achievement honour

Australian rocker PAUL KELLY is to pick up a lifetime achievement prize at an arts awards ceremony Down Under.
At this year’s (15) Helpmann Awards, the musician will receive the JC Williamson Award which is given to an entertainer who has made an “outstanding contribution” to the arts in Australia.
Kelly says of the honour, “Live performance is the crucible, the nitty gritty, where you make mistakes and find the stuff that works. So this is an important award to be a part of. Thank you to all involved.”
Previous recipients including Kylie Minogue, Dame Joan Sutherland and Barry Humphries.
The Helpmann Awards will be handed out during a ceremony at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney, Australia on 27 July (15).
