Peas Pay Tribute to DJ AM

The Black Eyed Peas have been left “devastated” by the death of Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein — because they teamed up with him in Las Vegas just a week before his sudden passing.

The beatmaker was found dead on Friday in his New York City apartment after a suspected drug overdose.

And Black Eyed Peas star Apl.De.Ap admits he was shocked to hear the news — as the band had collaborated with Goldstein in Sin City just seven days previously.

He tells MTV.com, “We couldn’t believe it. We were just with him (last) Friday in Las Vegas. We DJ’ed with him and we took a couple (of) pictures, and to hear it is devastating.”

While singer Fergie recalls her most cherished memories of the star, she adds, “I remember going to this club called Firehouse back in the day. It was, like, the summer of ’98 and he used to spin there. It’s a big dance club and this one night I remember there was basically 10 people in the club, but I really wanted to dance that night. They kept the club open and he kept spinning really good music. He was so cool like that. There wasn’t a mean bone in that guy’s body.”

Actress Lindsay Lohan has also spoken out about her grief following Goldstein’s passing, insisting she will look back on her time with him fondly.

She tells news show Extra, “It’s a really sore subject. He is a really amazing guy and I know it’s hard for a lot of people but he was an amazing teacher and he’s overcome a lot of battles and he will remain in all our hearts. God bless.”
