Peter and Bobby Farrelly are keen to reboot the 1994 comedy about two dim-witted pals, and fans were given a boost last summer (12) when actor Jeff Daniels insisted both he and his old co-star Jim Carrey were ready to start work on the follow-up as soon as they received a polished script.
Now Peter Farrelly claims the screenplay for Dumb and Dumber To (sic) is done – and the current hold-up lies with Warner Bros. bosses.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, “It’s not a firm greenlight yet because there are still negotiations happening, but that’s what we’d like to do next. We have a script that’s really, really fun.”
