Petra Nemcova Eliminated on ‘DWTS’

Considering she’d never heard of Elvis’s music before, Petra Nemcova churned out an impressive Quickstep to the tune of Viva Las Vegas on Monday night. Unfortunately, that was the last dance of her Dancing with the Stars experience, as she was eliminated from the competition last night. The supermodel with a career of helping others through her Happy Hearts Fund (which helps people who have lived through natural disasters, the same way she survived the 2004 Tsunami in Thailand) reached the top of the leader board when she received 25 points in the third week after she performed the Waltz to Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up, but tumbled down again after tying for last place this week with Ralph Macchio and Kendra Wilkinson. Upon learning she was leaving, Nemcova said “It’s been a life-changing journey for me. I met amazing friends, Dmitri put up with me for two months, and it’s been a life-changing journey not just for me but also for so many people who got inspired because of Dancing with the Stars and started to do dance-a-thons at school to fundraise for Happy Hearts Fund and change the lives of so many children around the world.” She continued explaining her experience to reporters after the live show ended and told them, “There is a reason for everything in life. I believe that what’s happening is that something new and beautiful is beginning. I came her to raise awareness about Happy Hearts Fund. That has been achieved. So many more people know about Happy Hearts Fund and the work we do to rebuild the lives of children after natural disasters.”
