Biography

Phil Brown was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Brown landed roles in various films, including the drama "H. M. Pulham, Esq." (1941) with Hedy Lamarr, "I Wanted Wings" (1941) and "Hello, Annapolis" (1942). He also appeared in the thriller "Weird Woman" (1944) with Lon Chaney Jr., the comedy "The Impatient Years" (1944) with Jean Arthur and the horror flick "Jungle Captive" (1945) with Otto Kruger. He kept working in film throughout the sixties and the seventies, starring in "The Bedford Incident" (1965) with Richard Widmark, "The Adding Machine" (1969) with Phyllis Diller and "Land Raiders" (1969) with Telly Savalas. He also appeared in the drama "Tropic of Cancer" (1970) with Rip Torn. Brown was most recently credited in "Da Vinci's Demons" (Starz, 2012-). Brown had a number of different projects under his belt in the nineties and the early 2000s, including "Wyatt Earp" (1994), "Fools Rush In" (1997) and "Love Serenade" (1997). His credits also expanded to "The Thirteenth Floor" with Craig Bierko (1999) and "Starwoids" (2000) starring Daniel Alter. Brown passed away in February 2006 at the age of 90.
