Precious named Best Film by African American critics

Precious also earned Geoffrey Fletcher a share of the Best Screenplay award with Ron Clements, Rob Edwards and John Musker, who penned The Princess and the Frog.

Morgan Freeman was named Best Actor for his turn as Nelson Mandela in Invictus, while Nicole Beharie claimed the Best Actress award for American Violet.

Michael Jackson was also honoured with a posthumous achievement award for This Is It.
