Biography

Ralph Dunn worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Dunn kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the western "Desperate Trails" (1939) with Johnny Mack Brown, "The Lone Ranger Rides Again" (1939) with Robert Livinston and "The Green Hornet" (1940). He also appeared in the romance "The Lady From Cheyenne" (1941) with Loretta Young, the Bud Abbott musical comedy "In the Navy" (1941) and the Sonja Henie musical comedy "Sun Valley Serenade" (1941). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in the comedy "Along Came Jones" (1945) with Gary Cooper, "Escape in the Fog" (1945) and "Conflict" (1945). He also appeared in "Dick Tracy" (1945). During the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Too Many Winners" (1947), "Dragnet" (1947) and the crime adaptation "Force of Evil" (1948) with John Garfield. He also appeared in the Ray Milland thriller "The Big Clock" (1948) and "Canon City" (1948). Dunn last acted in "Black Like Me" (1964) with John Whitmore.
