Randy Travis and Charlie Daniels inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame

Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels and record producer Fred Foster are to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The ceremony will take place later this year (16) at the Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion event.
The 2016 inductees were announced by singer Brenda Lee at a press conference on Tuesday (29Mar16).
“To say that I thought this day would never come would be an understatement,” Foster said during his acceptance speech. “(It feels like) you’re at the top of the mountain and I have to say the feeling is awfully good.”
Randy, who is still recovering from a massive stroke he suffered in 2013, asked his wife to speak on his behalf.
“I know that he chose a career he was hoping he could make a difference in, and that that career made a difference in him,” Mary Davis Travis said.
“I’m flabbergasted,” Daniels added. “You can work toward other goals but you can’t work toward this. I don’t ever get nervous in front of a crowd of people. I’m as nervous as hell.”
The Devil Went Down to Georgia singer admitted he hoped the Hall of Fame induction will help him get more work, adding, “I’ll be 80 years old in October and I’ve made no provisions about retiring.”
