With news of an Angry Birds movie and animated series on the way, would it be any huge surprise to see another popular video game like Fruit Ninja hit the big screen?
Wait no longer, sort of. Youtube filmmmaker Scott Winn (one half of dubstep duo Scott and Brendo) created a look at what a live-action Fruit Ninja film might look like. And the bizarre, funny clip has garnered over 10 million views so far.
What made it such a hit? The creators went to great pains to show their mohawked “ninja” expertly slicing and dicing dozens of flying pomegranates, kiwis, pineapples, bananas, even pumpkins, bombs and — a kitten? Add in some trippy dubstep music, cool slow-mo camera work, and you’ve got yourself a hit.
