Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead top Lollapalooza line-up

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem and J.Cole will top a bumper bill at America’s Lollapalooza music festival.
The artists are headlining a very special edition of the rock event, which will run for four days rather than three to mark its 25th anniversary.
Other acts performing at the rock extravaganza, which will take place in the Chicago’s Grant Park from 28 to 31 July (16), include Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Jane’s Addiction, Haim, The 1975 and Major Lazer.
In a statement posted on the Lollapalooza website the festival’s founder Perry Farrell said that organisers had lengthened this year’s (16) event by a day to mark the milestone.
“It’s our 25th Anniversary and we wanted to do something really special and different for our fans,” Perry said. “There’s a lot of really great music coming out in 2016; with the abundance of talent that wanted to help us celebrate 25 years we got to thinking…’How are we going to fit all those great artists in one weekend?’…So, we’ve put together an entire additional day of music to celebrate our milestone year. It’s going to be a fantastic party!”
The return of Jane’s Addiction to the Lollapalooza stage will be a particularly nostalgic experience for long-time festivalgoers, as the psychedelic rock band played on the main stage at the first edition in 1991.
Since the festival was revived after a six year break in 2003, it has grown to become a global phenomenon, with related events taking place in Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
