Biography

Richard Powers was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Powers kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Lights of Old Santa Fe" (1944), "The Navy Way" (1944) and the comedic adaptation "Up in Arms" (1944) with Danny Kaye. He also appeared in "San Quentin" (1946). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the drama "Crossfire" (1947) with Robert Young, "Dick Tracy's Dilemma" (1947) and the Merle Oberon spy thriller "Berlin Express" (1948). He also appeared in the western "Blood on the Moon" (1948) with Robert Mitchum. In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in the George Raft crime feature "Race Street" (1948), the Randolph Scott historical feature "Return of the Bad Men" (1948) and "Desperadoes of the West" (1950). He also appeared in "Red Planet Mars" (1952). Powers's music was most recently featured in "Hawks" (1989) with Timothy Dalton. Powers passed away in September 1980 at the age of 84.
