Biography

Ricky Skaggs was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Johnny Cash: Christmas 1983" (CBS, 1983-84) and "CBS' Happy New Year America 1983" (CBS, 1983-84). Skaggs also contributed music to "Country" (1984) and "Raw Deal" (1986). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "In the Hank Williams Tradition" (PBS, 1988-89) and "TNN's All-Star Salute to Country Music" (The Nashville Network, 1989-1990). Most recently, Skaggs appeared on "Conan" (TBS, 2010-). Skaggs won a Best Country Collaboration With Vocals Grammy Award in 1998.
