Ricky Whittle accuses The 100 producer of bullying

The 100 star Ricky Whittle claims he was forced to leave the show because producer Jason Rothenberg was “professionally bullying” him.
The British actor was cast as Lincoln in the U.S. post-apocalyptic drama series in 2014 and was sensationally killed off in March (16). He has now revealed that his decision to leave the show was because Jason had reduced his storyline so significantly that it was practically “non-existent”.
Ricky told online broadcaster AfterBuzz TV during an interview on Tuesday (05Apr16) that his character was originally not supposed to die in season three but he wanted to leave because Jason was allegedly employing tactics to “get him off the show”.
“Jason Rothenberg abused his position to make my job untenable. What he did was disgusting and he should be ashamed,” Ricky claims. “He was professionally bullying me, cutting out all the storyline I was supposed to be doing, cutting lines, cutting everything out, trying to make my character and myself as insignificant as possible.
“Jason was trying to cut me out and it was childish, it was immature, it’s narcissistical, really. He chose to belittle me and neglect my character and myself… That’s one thing that I’ll never forgive him for, he made me walk away from something I really love.”
Rothenberg avoided addressing Ricky’s comments when he issued a statement, which reads, “Ricky Whittle is a talented actor; I appreciate his work on The 100 and wish him all the best moving forward on American Gods.”
The 34-year-old is about to start production on American Gods, a TV series adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name. He will star as Shadow, alongside Ian McShane and Emily Browning.
