Rob Kardashian may be competing in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars but according to him, he’s facing another competitor as well — his weight. The reality star admits, “You probably wouldn’t know, but I’m the most insecure and overweight I’ve ever been,” confessing that he’s over 200 pounds right now (this site says a man standing at 5’10 (which is Rob’s height) should weigh between 158 and 180 pounds). Apparently he’s hoping that the show will help him fight this battle of the bulge, so he can foxtrot his way to a leaner figure. Rob claims, “I want to drop weight and this will be a good start.” Many celebrities in the past have lost a significant amount of weight after competing on the show including Kelly Osbourne and most recently, Kirstie Alley. So if you’re looking for a vigorous workout, this is certainly the right show to be on. The Kardashian male also wants to improve on his dance skills, which are rather lacking as of right now. He confesses that “I’m not a confident dancer at all. “And down the road… I don’t want to be that guy who doesn’t dance at his own wedding!” Don’t worry Rob, it didn’t stop Kim from dancing at hers.
He won’t be the first Kardashian to grace the show’s dance floor and compete for that mirror ball trophy — his sister Kim was part of the Season 7 cast, although she didn’t last for very long, so Rob’s not too keen on taking any advice she has to offer. He commented on her attempt at giving him words of wisdom, saying “I don’t want her advice – I don’t need advice from someone who lasted, I think three weeks.”
Aside from hoping to lose weight and improve his dance moves, Rob had another motivator for joining the cast this season — his mother, Kris Jenner. He admits she basically made him be on the dance show stating “My mom pretty much forced me to do this show. She did it to Kim and now she’s doing it to me! [She] just says, ‘Smile and be yourself'” The mom-ager strikes again, using her family in any way she can in order to remain in the spotlight. Good luck Rob!
