Robert Pattinson Related to Dracula, Say Genealogists

As much as this story belongs on the third page of The Onion, it actually comes straight from the Associated Press.  Last night a team of genealogists announced that they had uncovered a distant familial relationship between Twilight star Robert Pattinson and the Transylvanian Prince Vlad III (a.k.a. “The Impaler”)  – the inspiration for Bram Stroker’s Dracula.

In news that is already melting tween hearts around the nation, researchers at Ancestry.com revealed that both Pattinson and Vlad III are related through their connections to the British royal family: Princes William and Harry are Pattinson’s distant cousins, and “The Impaler” was their distant uncle.

As if this news couldn’t get any weirder, it has been suggested that Stephenie Meyer, the author of the ‘Twilight’ books, is also related to the royal family, and therefore to both Pattinson and the infamous Transylvanian.
