Robin Ellis revisited his past with Poldark cameo

Veteran British actor Robin Ellis was struck with a sense of deja vu on the set of the Poldark remake when he shot a scene identical to one he filmed in the show’s original run. Ellis played the lead role in the 1970s period drama and he was offered a cameo as a court judge by producers working on the new BBC reboot.
He was delighted to revisit one of his most famous performances but was left with a bizarre feeling after shooting a copy of a scene from the original show, but with Irish actor Aidan Turner playing Poldark instead.
Ellis tells U.K. TV show Loose Women, “Yes, absolutely (it was odd). Forty years ago I played the same scene as Ross Poldark. (Now) I play the judge who sentences (another character) to two years in jail.”
