Biography

Ron Goodwin produced music that was featured in many Hollywood productions. Goodwin worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Children of the D*mned" (1963), "Follow the Boys" (1963) starring Connie Francis, "I'm All Right Jack" with Peter Sellers (1960), "The Day of the Triffids" (1963) starring Howard Keel, "The Trials of Oscar Wilde" (1960) and "Village of the D*mned" with George Sanders (1961). In the sixties, Goodwin devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Alphabet Murders" (1965), "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" with Stuart Whitman (1965), "Where Eagles Dare" (1968) starring Richard Burton and "Monte Carlo or Bust!" with Tony Curtis (1969). Goodwin was nominated for a Best Original Score - Motion Picture Golden Globe Award for "Frenzy" in 1972. Goodwin had a number of different projects under his belt in the seventies, including "Escape From The Dark" (1976) starring Alastair Sim, "Spanish Fly" (1976), "Candleshoe" (1977), "Force 10 From Navarone" with Robert Shaw (1978) and "The Unidentified Flying Oddball" (1979). Goodwin last provided music for "Valhalla." Ron Goodwin passed away in January 2003 at the age of 78.
