Biography

Ron Goodwin produced music that was featured in many Hollywood productions. Goodwin began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the dramatic adaptation "The Trials of Oscar Wilde" (1960) with Peter Finch, "I'm All Right Jack" (1960) and the George Sanders mystery adaptation "Village of the D*mned" (1961). His music also appeared in the Connie Francis musical comedy "Follow the Boys" (1963), the Howard Keel dramatic adaptation "The Day of the Triffids" (1963) and the Ian Hendry drama "Children of the D*mned" (1963). In the sixties, Goodwin's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Stuart Whitman comedic adventure "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" (1965), the Tony Randall comedy adaptation "The Alphabet Murders" (1965) and the dramatic adaptation "Where Eagles Dare" (1968) with Richard Burton. His work was also in "Monte Carlo or Bust!" (1969). Goodwin was nominated for a Best Original Score - Motion Picture Golden Globe Award for "Frenzy" in 1972. Goodwin's music was also featured in "Escape From The Dark" (1976), "Spanish Fly" (1976) with Leslie Phillips and the action movie "Force 10 From Navarone" (1978) with Robert Shaw. His music was also featured in "The Unidentified Flying Oddball" (1979) with Dennis Dugan. Goodwin was most recently credited in the dramatic adaptation "Children of Men" (2006) with Julianne Moore. Goodwin passed away in January 2003 at the age of 78.
