Biography

Actor Ron Soble appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Soble began his acting career appearing mainly in films, such as the biopic "Al Capone" (1959) with Rod Steiger, the James Brown western "Gun Fight" (1961) and the drama "The Cincinnati Kid" (1965) with Steve McQueen. He also appeared in "True Grit" (1969) with John Wayne, "Chisum" (1970) and "Macho Callahan" (1970) with David Janssen. He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "Star Trek" (NBC, 1966-69). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies, appearing in the western "Joe Kidd" (1972) with Clint Eastwood, the dramatic adaptation "Papillon" (1973) with Steve McQueen and the dramatic adaptation "When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?" (1979) with Marjoe Gortner. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Daughters of Joshua Cabe" (ABC, 1972-73). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "McNamara's Band" (ABC, 1977-78) and "If I'm Lost, How Come I Found You?" (ABC, 1978-79). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Homefront" (ABC, 1991-93). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "The Mystic Warrior" (1983-84). Soble more recently acted in "Pterodactyl Woman From Beverly Hills" (1996).
