After starting out in theater, actor Russell Hornsby relocated to Los Angeles and began landing parts in movies and television series. By 2000 he was co-starring on the medical drama "Gideon's Crossing", which was followed by more television work. Hornsby's highest profile film appearance during the decade was in the 2005 drama "Get Rich or Die Tryin'", which starred rapper 50 Cent. In 2007, he led the cast of the family TV drama "Lincoln Heights", in which he played a police officer who returns to his old neighborhood. This was followed by a co-starring role in the popular fantasy-crime drama "Grimm", which was renewed for a second season in 2012.
