Biography

Ruth Robinson worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Robinson kickstarted her acting career in various films such as the Boris Karloff horror film "The Walking Dead" (1936), the adventure "China Clipper" (1936) with Pat O'Brien and "The Story of Louis Pasteur" (1936) with Paul Muni. She also appeared in "The Case of the Velvet Claws" (1936), the western "Roll Along Cowboy" (1937) with Smith Ballew and "On Such a Night" (1937). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the thirties and the forties, appearing in "The Lone Wolf in Paris" (1938), the Pat O'Brien biopic "Knute Rockne - All American" (1940) and the western "Across the Sierras" (1941) with Billy Elliott. She also appeared in the Douglas Fairbanks Jr. dramatic adventure "The Corsican Brothers" (1941). During the latter part of her career, she continued to act in "The Kid Sister" (1945), "Delightfully Dangerous" (1945) and the Shirley Temple Black drama "That Hagen Girl" (1947). She also appeared in "Trapped" (1949) with Lloyd Bridges and "The Search For Bridey Murphy" (1956). Robinson last worked on "Motown 30: What's Goin' On!" (1990-91).
