Schwarzenegger hated the idea of Shepard dating his teen daughter

Shepard was chosen to ‘roast’ the Terminator at an event two years ago (07) and opened up by suggesting his relationship with Katherine Schwarzenegger, who was then 17, was more than just friendship.

The former Hollywood action man was so amused he decided to show off his own comedy skills in a letter to the Without A Paddle star.

Shepard adopted Schwarzenegger’s voice and read the note while appearing on U.S. chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday (28Oct09).

The letter read: “Thanks for taking part in the roast last night, but, no, you may not have my daughter. I’m sorry to break it to you but your terrific talent, great humor and so-so Arnold impersonation do not add up to son-in-law material, especially when the relationship would put you in jail.

“It would really mess up my weekends to have to schlep Katherine to visit you every Sunday.”

The letter, which features the Governor’s official seal, concludes, “On a motorcycle or anywhere, I hope to run into you somewhere soon.”

Ironically, Shepard read out the note from Schwarzenegger on the same day the Governor was being criticised for an official letter he wrote to a political critic, in which the words ‘F**k off’ were spelled out at the beginning of each line.

The actor had a little fun on the back of the new literary scandal: “I thought, ‘Hey, maybe there’s a secret message in my letter,’ so I added up all the letters and I divided it by pi – I think that’s what you do… This is what it said: ‘I love your smile and your glutes’.”
