Seven Brides for Seven Brothers star Veronica Gibson dies

Actress and singer Veronica Gibson has died, aged 88. The Seven Brides for Seven Brothers star passed away on 25 April (13) in Pennsylvania, according to a new report.
Gibson started out on Broadway in the mid-1940s and became a beloved New York thespian, picking up a Tony Award nomination in 1957 for her role in Happy Hunting opposite Ethel Merman.
As well as playing Liza in director Stanley Donen’s 1954 musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Gibson also appeared in the movies Tea for Two, Goodbye, My Fancy and Funny Face.
She also co-hosted children’s documentary series Discovery for ABC News throughout the 1960s and was a regular on The Johnny Carson Show.
