Biography

Stefan Brogren's career began as a teen actor on the long-running youth-oriented drama program "Degrassi High" as Archie Simpson. Fans of the show and its various off-shoots have watched the character of Simpson, and Brogren himself, grow up on the show, as he has appeared on the show since its conception and is the only character to still be active on the show. One of the later incarnations of the program, "Degrassi: The Next Generation," finds Brogren's character as the school principal of Degrassi. As well as acting, Brogren has served as a producer, writer, and director on the program. His other work, outside of the confines of the "Degrassi" franchise, includes guest spots on the television programs "Liberty Street," "La Femme Nikita," "Twitch City," and "Witchblade," to name a few. He has also appeared in a few theatrical and made-for-television movies, like "Hairshirt" (starring Neve Campbell), the sensational TV docudrama "Martha Behind Bars," and in the horror comedy "Bitten."
