Biography

Sterling K. Brown is an American film and television actor best known for his roles in "Supernatural" and "Army Wives." Brown discovered acting while still a teenager, and appeared in numerous high school productions. He studied drama at Stanford University, and later earned an MFA from the Graduate Acting program at New York University. After graduating, Brown appeared in many local and regional stage productions before making his TV debut in the 2002 thriller "Smallpox." That year he landed a recurring role as a police officer on the medical drama "Third Watch," and guest roles on such TV shows as "Boston Legal." In 2005 Brown, who is married to actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, was cast as a bulimic police officer in the short-lived sitcom "Starved," which followed the members of an eating disorder support group as they dealt with their food addictions. Brown's portrayal of Gordon Walker made the determined vampire hunter a popular recurring character on the fantasy horror series "Supernatural," and he has since become a regular cast member of the military drama "Army Wives."
