The co-founder of NFL Films died on Tuesday morning (18Sep12), 18 months after doctors discovered an inoperable tumour in his brain.
Sabor’s love and passion for American football prompted him to set up NFL Films in the 1960s with his father Ed. Their work revolutionised the way fans watched the sport and he won more than 40 Emmy Awards for writing, cinematography, editing, directing and producing football games.
He also helped produce sports documentaries Hard Knocks, NFL Films Presents and Football Follies.

The father-son team was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 2003 for “setting the standard in sports filmmaking”.
