Biography

Talib Kweli worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Kweli worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Brown Sugar" (2002) starring Taye Diggs, "Chappelle's Show" (Comedy Central, 2002-06), "Hip-Hop Artists 2 Watch" (MTV2, 2000-01), "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (ABC, 2002-), "The 2003 Essence Awards" (Fox, 2002-03) and "The Magnet" with Akhenaton (2001). He then appeared in the documentary "Soundz of Spirit" (2003) with Andre Benjamin, the comedy "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" (2006) with Dave Chappelle and "Public Enemy: Welcome to the Terrordome" (2007) with Carlton "Chuck D" Ridenhour. Kweli also created music for the Missy Peregrym sports comedy "Stick It" (2006). In the early 2000s and the 2010s, Kweli lent his talents to projects like the Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill smash hit "Superbad" (2007), "Call + Response" (2008), "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" (2008) starring America Ferrera, "The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975" with Danny Glover (2011) and "#ReGeneration" (2012). Kweli most recently worked on "The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore" (2014-15).
