Biography

Tammy Grimes began acting at the tender age of 12. Grimes's early roles were in dramas like "Play It As It Lays" (1972). She additionally landed roles in the TV movies "The Other Man" (NBC, 1970-71) and "The Horror at 37,000 Feet" (CBS, 1972-73). Her film career continued throughout the seventies and the eighties in productions like the Dick Van Dyke dramatic adaptation "The Runner Stumbles" (1979), "Can't Stop the Music" (1980) and the Michael Moriarty comedy "The Stuff" (1985). She also lent her voice to the Alan Arkin animated film "The Last Unicorn" (1982). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the dramedy "Slaves of New York" (1989) with Bernadette Peters, the Lisa Eichhorn comedic drama "A Modern Affair" (1996) and "High Art" (1998) with Ally Sheedy. She also appeared in "Trouble on the Corner" (1998). Most recently, Grimes acted in "The Portrait" (1999).
